      Yesterday I participate in consumer opinion test (Warsaw, Poland). It was compact-class car test. Following cars were presented: Peugeot 307, Renault Megane II, VW Golf V, Opel Astra III, Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus (present version) and the C4! 5 doors version of C4 looks very, very similar to photo above.
      Very modern looks of body and of course interior too. Headlights are very similar to BMW 5. Strange, but not so strange as backlights: lights aren?t as flat as rest of tailage. They stand out of surface.

      Interior is small. Sitting in back, you touching a roof with your head, which is really uncomfortable. Moreover, legs do not have much space, too. It is very tight. Sitting as a driver is much better. But you have to check four displays: first is ?normal? place, the second is in the middle of the shelf (close to the windscreen), third is in the dashboard console above the radio. The fourth one is the funniest. It is behind steering wheel on the steering wheel column. It contains traffic indicators, etc. Another interesting think are cubby-holes (glove compartments?) ? a really big number of them (even small pockets in driver seat). To open you have to press small steel icon on it. It is a feeling of opening a CD in computer. Very smoothly.

      Another part of the consumer test was computer simulation of the price. It seems in Poland five door version with 1.6 engine will start from 70.000 PLN (15200 EUR) which is less than Golf (16000 EUR).

        Well I'm 1,82 m tall (~6 feet 1 inch). I said it is tight comapared to every car in the test. It is similar to Megane. Why? The roof is falling down very fast, what you can see on the picture.

        Boot size is normal. In my opinion is bigger than Megane but it isn't extremly big. Let me say it is typical Where the space where spend? First, the driver has a plenty of room. But what is more important windscreen is sloped and the roof in back falls down (in similar way as in Seat Leon). You can say styling is more important than functionality

          Thnx art0. That thight cabin space is risky buissnes these days, when consumers are spoiled with monovolumen leisures . So, the car have to offer "something else" to appeal. Like Megane with it's different extravagant design. How did you find C4? Is there that "something else" charm in it? Would you turn your head after it passes you on street ? Or is it like Golf, wich is good in every way, but bit dull&unsensual?
          And what kind of materials have they used for dashboard? Is it still hard plastic stuff as in Xara or C3, or did they finally discovered soft, rubbery materials that german competitors uses for quit a while

          For sure car has very modern look. Every french car enthusiast will say it is beatifull (tested on friends ). But in my opinion (I prefer german design ) car is too modern. But of course it is car that turn every head when passing....

          Yes, there is a progress. Materials are much better. Dashboard is nice to touch, soft. Far, far better than Golf.

          BTW: I can't understand why Citroen Poland shows C4 so early - two months before others? Opinion test, ok? But do you think any change in car design (interior, etc) are still possible?

            Thnx again art0, so there is some Citroen spirit in C4. I was quite dissapointed after first spy shots. Specialy after seeing five door version. It loked like a bad Focus restyle . (still 'm afraid that it'll look like wired crossover of Focus and very old Honda Civic )
            I'm not shoure why realy you were able to see the car. Unless you're Citroen employee (and quite high in Poland I might add ), and I doubt that there's much chance of changing in the remining couple of months, before introduction.
            Unles there's posibility of second interior, like in big van quadriples. They have analog and digital option of displays. But that would be a bit unracional in this segment. Btw. How is this four display interior of C4? Nice, dinamic, minimalistic, beautiful, techno, clean, dull, empty, boring, messy, untransparent, colourfull.... . After what you said before, we only know that it's not very conventional.
            O, yes. How lousy fornt seats are? And did you try gear box. They realy didn't shine there. Shifting was shitty even when cars were standing still.

            It is hard for me to desribe interior. If I say it is boring, you will ask me: what does it mean it is boring?
            It is cosmic, I have never seen interior this kind. I remember when I saw Focus for first time. Dashboard was absolutly different. Completly new way. Watching C4 I felt the same feeling. Remember what i wrote about cubby-holes? They aren't typical, they look more like drawers/trays(?) which open after pressing
            Talking about colors it isn't colorfull. But every car in the test have one color - black interior.
            It was 1.6 version. Seats were comfortable - for me too comfortable. It is a french car,isn't it I suppose in case of VTS or VTR version seats will be better...
            Gearbox. I didn't have oportunity to drive so it's hard me to say....Of course I move few times gearbox stick - shfiting was ok. You must wait to drive test
            But I doubt I will be invited

                  se spomnim sicer, da je bilo govora o predstavitvi uradni na enem sejmu septembra, ampak kje ze je? paris?:o

                    je. ?e dva mesca je do predstavitve. to je septembra na salonu v parizu. poleg tega pa brat po avtu iz drugega foruma pravi, da bo citroen meu predstavitev za ju?noevropske inu balkanske prostore v Benetkah. nekej se kur?ijo, da bojo ?li, ker je fotr zastopnik. bomo vidli. :cul mogo?e bom ?el pa zraven :rolley:rolley:rolley

                    U 9 mjesecu ove godine dolazi C4 i C5 restyle.. Predstavljanje za Citroen International je u Veneciji... ide se brodom..

                    pa ide se u 9 mjesecu a tocan datum i lokaciju cu vjerojatno znat dva tjedna prije... sto se mene tice, cini mi se kao dobra ideja.. 4 citroenasa... i idemo obavezno s mojom Activom pa neka sline..


                    kakor vidite so tip?ki glih prou opizdeni, da bi jo znali potegnit do benetk :wwa: . activa si ?e rihta ?engen vizo in tranzit za slovenijo (iz BG :))

                          ?eprav mi ta njihova politika s HDI motorji ni glih najbl jasna. Majo 1.4 s 70 al kulko ?e konji, pol majo 1.4 z 90 konji, pa 1.6 (novi&ford) s 110 konji, pa 2.0 z 90, 110, 136 (novi&ford) konji.
                          ?e spustim sarkazem okrog rahlega prekrivanja prostornin in mo?i je pa vsej konfuzno do konca.

                          A ja, ?e je za Xsaro/C4 recimo, dober 1.4 bencinar s 75 konji, kaj kur** ne dajo not vsej 90 konjskega 1.4 HDIja, ?e ne ?e unga z 72timi?
                          Bi pa ?e raj?i mel 90ks HDI in njegov navor, kot pa 1.4 bencinsko anemijo.

                            Iz tega je razvidno, da bodo bencinski nov - 1.4 16v (90KM), 1,6 16v (110KM), 2.0 16v (lahko 136 ali 167KM) - ni popolnoma jasno.

                            Za dizle pa: nov HDI 1.6 16v (110KM) in le nov HDI 2.0 16v (136KM)

                            BVM najbr? pomeni ro?ni menjalnik (manual), BMA pa avtomatski.

                              ja, bo najbr? res... BVM je verjetno nekaj kot "boite vitese mauale" in BVA takisto "automatique". kar bi blo menjalnik. ampak kak si iz teh ?ifer zgruntal mo? motorja mi pa ni glih jasno.

                                ?e malo pozna? PSA-jeve motorje in spremlaj? kaj je novega na tr?i??u kaj hitro potegne? ?rto- vsi motorji so namre? 16v.
